Punjab government would provide 3224 free bicycles to government school girls of class 10+1 & 10+2 in district SAS Nagar under Mai Bhaggo Viddya scheme this financial year.Disclosing this here today, Chief Parliamentary Secretary   Mr. N.K. Sharma said that total 3224 bicycles would be handed over to the girl students of 11th & 12th class students. He further added that 1542 girl students from class 11th and 1682 girl students from class 12th would be benefited under this scheme.Mr. Sharma said that Mai Bhaggo Scheme was launched in the year 2011-12 under this scheme Rs. 91 lac and had been spent on providing bicycles to 3316 girl students of class 11th and 12th during the year 2011-12 in district Mohali.

He said that Mai Bhaggo Viddya Scheme is the dream project of Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal and was envisaged specially to promote education among the girls and to reduce the dropout rate in the state schools.
