Culture Minister lays emphasis on governance, transparency, and timely delivery as key to good performance The Minister of State for Culture (Independent Charge), Tourism (Independent Charge) and Civil Aviation, Dr. Mahesh Sharmaheld a review meeting with senior officers of the Archeological Survey of India (ASI) of Ministry of Culture in New Delhi today. Director General of ASI, Dr. Rakesh Tiwari briefed the Minister about the history of ASI, its working, achievements and the challenges faced by the organization. Addressing the officers, Dr. Mahesh Sharma said that for any project undertaken by the ASI there should be dedicated officers along with setting of a time frame within which the project is to be completed as well as strict monitoring of implementation. The Minister said that governance, transparency, and timely delivery are the key to good performance. 

Dr. Mahesh Sharma informed that the Prime Minister has also desired that all work done by the Ministries or organizations of the Government should be available in a transparent form in E-books, on webportals etc. He added that the work culture now needs to be changed and that he will be making surprise visits to the offices of the Ministry. He further said that the officers should upgrade themselves as well as develop a system of integrated activities so that a definite atmosphere of change is visible within the next three months. Earlier, Dr. Mahesh Sharma inspected the offices of ASI along with the senior officers.
