The Union Minister of State for Tourism (Independent Charge), Culture (Independent Charge), and Civil Aviation, Dr. Mahesh Sharma held a meeting to review the progress of main initiatives of the Ministry of Culture in New Delhi today. He was briefed by the Secretary, Culture, Mr. Ravindra Singh. The Minister was briefed about the focus of the Ministry on Good Governance, which includes several initiatives like digitization, archival work, Swachhta Abhiyan, Revamping laws and rationalizing administrative procedures. The Secretary informed that now that E-ticketing at the Taj and Humayun’sTomb has already begun, e-ticketing will be made available at other sites also.The Minister asked the officials to ensure that as targeted, E-Ticketing of all ticketed monuments/sitesshould be completed by the end of this year. Similarly, ticketing of all museums and academies where ticketing is applicable will be made online. Sh. Ravindra Singh said that the Swachha Bharat Swachha Smarak Campaign has been taken up in 25 important monuments of ASI. ASI has taken it up in a project made with a multi disciplinary project for better effectiveness, he said. He also highlighted the importance of project Mausam started last year, which seeks to establish linkages with Indian Ocean countries. Senior officers of the Ministry were present during the meeting.
