Ali Mohammad Sagar chairs meeting of newly elected representatives

Party vows to defend constitution of Jammu and Kashmir and Naya Kashmir program

The newly elected legislators from National ConferenceTuesday took a vow to defend the constitution of Jammu and Kashmir and the party programs like Naya Kashmir, in a meeting convened here at the party headquarters.A party spokesman in a statement issued to GNS said that a meeting of all the newly elected MLA’s from different parts of the state was convened here at the party headquarters which was chaired by the party General Secretary Advocate Ali Mohammad Sagar.In the meeting all the MLA’s vowed to fight tooth and nail to protect the special status enjoyed by the Jammu and Kashmir.

Expressing gratitude to the newly elected MLA’s from the party patron Dr Farooq Abdullah and all the party activists and workers, Sagar hoped that all the elected representatives will work tirelessly for the welfare of the people of all three regions of the state.Sagar appealed the pisional administration to take steps on war-footing basis for the rehabilitation of the flood victims.  He said rehabilitation of the flood victims has been prioritised by the National Conference and all the necessary steps will be taken to ease out the problems faced by those affected by floods.

He hailed the efforts of the Party Working President Omar Abdullah taken during the floods, especially providing the needed amount on time to the flood victims.“It was a very timely action that cheques worth Rs 75,000, Rs 12600 and Rs 3800 were provided to people so that they could restart the construction work while the winters were approaching,” Sagar said and added “In absence of funds, and the unnecessary delay in releasing the Rs 44,000 Crore as asked by Omar Abdullah, only little amount could be provided to the people who were left homeless by the great deluge.”

Urging the central government to provide the Rs 44,000 Crore package as soon as possible, he said National Conference stand by its commitment to help the people affected by the floods. Congratulating the newly elected representatives on their victory, Sagar said all of the representatives have reposed their faith in the leadership of Dr Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah and will support any move taken by these two leaders for the government formation.In the meeting, the elected representatives declared to work hard to strengthen the roots of the party all across the state.
