The Army on Tuesday said to have foiled an infiltration bid on the Line of Control (LoC) in Akhnoor sector of Jammu and Kashmir.A senior army officer told GNS that a group 3-4 heavily armed militants tried to infiltrate at Nalwa Post of Palanwalla area of Akhnoor sector at around 12:30 pm.""Alert soldiers of 11 JAKLI foiled their attempt and pushed them back. There was firing between two sides which continued for an hour," the officer said.He said that the militants later managed to return back to the other side of the Line of Control (LoC).Meanwhile, army has intensified vigil and launched search operation in the whole area of Akhnoor sector following the infiltration attempt, the officer added.
