In a major decision the education department has reverted back more than 4000 teachers working as District Project Coordinators, District Resource Persons, Math Master Trainers, English Master Trainers, Block Master Trainers Parho Punjab, Cluster Master Trainers Parho Punjab, District Maths Coordinators, English Project District Coordinators, Parho Punjab Coordinators, Assistant Parho Punjab Coordinators, ICT Coordinators and EDUSAT Coordinators to their parent schools. Disclosing this here today, Punjab Education Minister Sikander Singh Maluka said that this decision was aimed to ensure impartation of quality education in government schools as he had observed that the teachers working on various other assignments rather involving in direct teaching were not fulfilling the sole purpose of imparting education. Underlining the need to restructure the District and Block Level Education Offices, the Minister pointed out that he was informed that the number of teachers working in the field were much more than those required against sanctioned posts. Besides this, these field officers were being paid approximately Rs.7 crore remuneration annually. He said that as per the guidelines issued by Ministry of Human Resource Development, every state have to deploy subject specific block resource persons because their job profile be speaks about their function as BRPs and they would act as block resource group at Block Level and in totality as District Resource Group. He categorically said that the state government has decided to recruit BRPs in accordance with the posts sanctioned by Ministry of Human Resource Development in future. He said that with deployment of BRPs as per actual sanctioned post the annual remuneration expenditure would be cut drastically. The Education Minister revealed that the department would soon shortlist efficient, experienced and hard working teachers for assigning the job of BRP at block level and DRP at district level.
