Senior Congress Leader and MLA Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori on Wednesday thanked to the people of Inderwal by casting vote in his favour irrespective of caste, color, creed for enabling the Indian National Congress (INC) to emerge victorious for the third time in the Inderwal constituency 2014 Assembly election, calling the result to be 'historic'.Saroori today held series of unprecedented and impressive rallies at Bus Stand Kishtwar, Drabshalla, Thathri, Khara, Bathri, Bumboo, Jakyas, Bhatyas and Bhalessa areas of Inderwal Assembly segment where people gave him rousing receptions and raises slogans in favour of him.
While addressing mammoth gatherings Saroori express his delight at the win and has thanked to the people of Inderwal for giving him another opportunity for the third time with convincing margins of 13,000 votes to fulfill their dreams and to take Inderwal's development journey to new heights," Saroori said.Saroori said It is not my victory but the victory of the people of Inderwal. So, I want to congratulate them. Last time, I had won by a record of 11,000 votes. This time I even broke that record, winning by a margin of around 13,000 votes. This is perhaps the highest victory margin ever in elections held in district Kishtwar. The victory has also given me a great responsibility of serving the people in the best possible way. I would work towards bringing in more investments, developing infrastructure, unemployment and completing all the developmental works.”He also said victory in the Inderwal Assembly segment was due to the efforts which the Congress workers had been vigorously campaigning among the voters. My victory is the victory of people of Inderwal, victory of secularism and politics of development and non violence.
Saroori further said that Congress is ready to support People Democratic Party (PDP) to keep the BJP at bay. "We can have a common minimum agenda with the PDP as we have allied with PDP in the past”, Saroori said and added that it will be easier for PDP to come together with Congress than BJP to form government in Jammu and Kashmir. Saroori also thanks electronic media for fair coverage of 52 Inderwal constituency in the Assembly election.It is pertinent to mention here that Congress got 29754, Tariq Hussain Keen 17384 and Abdul Majid Butt 12570. Congress candidate from Inderwal Assembly segment won the Assembly election by thumbing margin of 12370 votes.
