Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh Saturday said the government was committed to improving India's medical infrastructure while stressing the need for an integrated healthcare system.Speaking at the convocation of the King George's Medical University (KGMU) here, he said: "Our government is committed to improve the medical infrastructure of the country.""Our government is also working towards providing health care and health cover to the people," said Rajnath Singh, who represents Lucknow in parliament and is a former Uttar Pradesh chief minister.

He stressed on the need for an integrated healthcare system "instead of the existing fragmented healthcare system"."We need to improve the primary healthcare system of our country. It will reduce the pressure on super specialty hospitals," he said.The minister also lauded KGMU's contribution to the medical world calling it "remarkable", and also congratulated the passing out doctors.
