Syed Ali Geelani leads prayers in absentia for victims of Peshawar terror attack

Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman Syed Ali Geelani led prayers in absentia for the victims of Peshawar terror attack on Wednesday.According to a spokesman of the Hurriyat (G), earlier while giving slip to police, Geelani managed to reach Jamia Masjid Hyderpora to lead prayers in absentia for children killed in Peshawar massacre. While strongly condemning the barbaric and cowardly act, he said it is against humanity and such kind of insanity and savagery should be stopped.“Killings in the name of Islam or Jihad are not Islam nor such barbaric acts are justified. We stand with the people of Pakistan. We share in this hour of grief with the families and loved ones of all those who lost their lives in this heart wrenching incident. Our hearts go out to the grief-stricken families of the innocent children killed,” he added.

Geelani was speaking at an occasion of relief distribution among 50  flood affected families and gave away cheque for Rs 10000 and a relief kit to each of the more 50 flood affected families of Srinagar.On this occasion sharing his views and strong resentment against Peshawar massacre, he said “Islam never taught us to kill innocent children. Islam never preach terrorism and killing innocents is not Islam and this cowardice behavior by terrorist attacking innocent children is against humanity. We in strong words condemn this barbaric act and added these acts are aimed to make Pakistan a weak. We reject and this is not the way to implement Islamic jurisprudence in Pakistan.”

“Those people who want to implement Islam with might are misguided and there is no moral or legal justification for these cowardice acts, added Geelani. The children killed in this gruesome act are martyrs and they are innocents and were massacred for no fault of their,” said Geelani.Terming the attack as crime against humanity, Geelani said, “It tantamount to killing the whole humanity.”Meanwhile on directions of Geelani prayers in absentia were offered and were led by Raja Meraj u din, Shah Wali Mohammad, Syed Mohidin Andrabi, Mufti Ajaz, Rayees Ahmad, Sareer Ahmad in Lal Chowk, Jamia Masjid Sopore, Pulwama, Baitul Mukaram Baramullah, Bandipora, Masjid Arman, Chadoora and Krimshore Budgam.
