Srinagar , 14 Dec 2014

The State Congress chief Prof Saif-ud-Din Soz Sunday said that time has gone when Srinagar used to be the bastion of the National Conference (NC).“This time people have voted for the change,” Soz told KNS.He expressed concern over the low percentage of polling in various areas of the summer capital, saying he hopes BJP doesn’t get any edge in this phase also. “I am concerned about Habbak Kadal. The poll percentage reaching here is not more than 25 percent. I hope that people would not give Modi any chance to win from the state. BJP is an open enemy of the people and people must know the difference between friends and foes,” Soz added. Commenting over the overall polling on the eight assembly segments of Srinagar, the Congress president said, “I am satisfied that amid cold weather conditions and volatile situation, people came out and exercised their right.”

He also took dig at the National Conference saying the time is gone when the party used to claim that Srinagar is its bastion. “People were much disgruntled with the corruption, serious lapses in the governance. Now minds have changed and people have given message to all the political parties that they are not going to tolerate the mis governance,” he said.Soz said that the party (Congress) has done well in South Kashmir’s Shangus, Dooru and Kokernag areas. He hailed people for coming out to vote and taking part in the democratic process
