General Secretary AICC Ambika Soni and State Congress President Prof Saifudin Soz addressed election gathering at Singpora Pattan.In a statement a spokesperson of the party said they were accompanied by Gulam Nabi Monga MLC, Vice President JK PCC, Aftab Ahmad Beigh District President and others.Addressing the gathering Soni told the people their welfare will always be the first concern of Congress particularly Congress President Sonia Gandhi and Vice President Rahul Gandhi. She reminded the people that Congress was with the people of Kashmir in their hour of need during recent floods. She emphasized the fact that Congress Party fullest possible knowledge about their needs for their development, UPA I and UPA II had proved that fact in ample measure.
Soni lamented the fact that Omar Abdullah led government had not allowed the adoption of Food Security Bill that could have provided great relief to the people of J&K.She urged the people to support and vote for Reyaz Ahmad Sheikh candidate from Pattan constituency and other candidate fielded by Congress as the Party alone had the capacity and concern to ‘serve them best.’Prof. Soz said that Congress feels confident that it shall have a largest presence in the J&K Legislative Assembly (2014) and we are determent to fulfill these promises. He said that it is the Congress that will decide the future shape of secular coalition government in the State.Those who addressed the gathering included Gulam Nabi Monga, Aftab Ahmad Beigh, Reyaz Ahmad Sheikh and others.
