National Conference Working President Omar Abdullah Monday addressed a public meeting in Dara, Sonawar and said that he would leave no stone unturned for the holistic development of Sonawar in accordance with the demands of the locals.The NC Working President and Party’s candidate from Sonawar, Omar said that time had come to make Sonawar an a global micro-destination in boutique tourism, sustainable employment generation and state-of-the-art public infrastructure while at the same time striving the strike a balance with the highest standards of environmental preservation.Addressing the public meeting in Dara, Sonawar, Omar said that he would personally strive to evolve a comprehensive plan for Sonawar’s development based on inputs of the locals who reside in various areas of the assembly segment. “I will involve the promising youth of this area in my efforts to transform Sonawar as a hub of economic and tourism activity in every nook and corner of this segment right from Pantha Chowk to Dara,” Omar said.

“I am here for the youth of Sonawar and assure them that together we will leave no stone unturned to fight against unemployment and exploitation. My efforts in the last six years have been to arm you with tools to empower you. I want you to hold your Chief Minister, Ministers and MLAs accountable through RTI and I want you to play a frontal role in not only making Sonawar a model constituency but also ushering J&K into a new era of strength, reconstruction and prosperity by augmenting our efforts during the last six years,” Omar said.The NC Working President said that he would always be in constant touch with the youth activists of Sonawar constituency and would take their inputs at regular intervals to chart out a plan to deal with all pending local grievances. 

“I make an appeal to all youth of this constituency to strengthen my hands in developing Sonawar and in helping me make it realize its optimum potential in tourism generation, employment generation and public infrastructure development. Your dreams will be the cornerstone of my vision”, Omar said.Others who attended the public meeting in Dara, Sonawar include NC leader Nazir Ahmed Gurezi, sitting MLA from Sonawar Mohammad Yaseen Shah, NC Youth leader Advocate Ahsan Pardesi, Bashir Ahmed Ganai, Advocate Bashir Katoo, Bashir Ahmed Wani, Mohammad Amin and Ghulam Hussain Wani.
