Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Conference (PC) chairman Sajjad Lone Friday said the candidates of the traditional parties Peoples Democratic Party, National Conference (NC) and Congress were involved in scams, human rights violations and molestation cases.Lone was addressing a series of road shows in Lolab constituency of frontier District Kupwara. He was accompanied by senior PC leaders and contesting candidate from Lolab Abdul Rahim Wani.Addressing the road shows, he said, “I just can’t believe that the traditional parties provide space to such notorious people, who are involved in scams, human rights violations and molestation etc. This shows that these parties considers only criterion of money power of the candidate and nothing else. They treat politics as a business enterprise to make profits and common man is left unattended thereby adding miseries to the people of the state.”
“We want to distinguish ourselves from other parties who peg into the wave of change sweeping across the region unabashedly harp on the slogan of change notwithstanding the fact that despite political careers spanning decades they have not been able to bring about an iota of change. What will they do now in the twilight of their careers,” he asked.
The PC chief said the only change they could bring about was that of facilitating the bloodbath of youth. “On that count they are infact true that they did bring about a change in stabbing their own people in the backs and demonstrating new levels of the deceit and treachery especially against own people. We have stood the test of time and have always and Inshallah will always stand by the people of Kashmir,” Lone said.
He added that the traditional parties, who project themselves as pro-Kashmir, must know that people are wise enough to read their past when all their activities were against people of Kashmir.Lone appealed to the people to vote for new faces who have blot free past and show doors to those who are trying to fool the people by hollow sloganeering.
