There are intelligence inputs that a few Indian youth have left the country to join the ISIS (Islamic State) and the intelligence agencies were closely monitoring their movement and activities, parliament was told Tuesday.

"There are intelligence inputs that a few Indian youth have left the country to join the ISIS. Their numbers, however, are miniscule. The intelligence agencies are closely monitoring their movement and activities," Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju told Lok Sabha in a response to a question. He said that there have been isolated instances of some people flashing ISIS symbols, especially in the states of Jammu and Kashmir and Tamil Nadu."The government is closely monitoring the situation and has directed the intelligence and security agencies to identify all such elements and keep a watch on their activities. Cyber-space is also being closely scanned in this regard," he said.

In answer to another query, he said there were intelligence inputs of some organizations perting funds for purposes other than the permitted use of foreign funds."On the basis of the complaints of various violations of Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act, 24 cases have so far been referred to CBI and nine cases have been referred to state police for investigation," he said. The government monitors the receipt and utilisation of foreign contribution received by any 'person' including NGOs in the country in terms of the law and rules framed under the act.Answering another query, Rijiju said that there have been 152 ceasefire violations by Pakistan till Oct 31 this year as reported by the Jammu and Kashmir government, leaving 13 civilians and two security force personnel dead.
