A delegation of the presidents of various Panchayat organisations constituting the Joint Action Committee today met the Rural Development and Panchayat Minister  Sikander Singh Maluka here today.Stating this, a spokesperson of the department said that the delegation met the Minister regarding their demand having the audit of panchayats done by a Government agency rather than a private agency. The Minister listened patiently to the demands of the delegation members and assured them about the acceptance of their demands.The spokesperson also added that the Minister while assuring the Panchayats said that for the time being, the audit will be done of those Panchayats who receive larger amounts of grant. 

According to the spokesperson, apart from Financial Commissioner of the department Mr. Mandeep Singh Sandhu I.A.S., Director Mr. C. Siban I.A.S., Joint Director Mr. G.P. Singla, Deputy Director Harvinder Kaur Buttar and other senior officials of the department, President of Junior Engineer Association Mr. Kulwant Singh, Sarpanch Prem Singh Maulviwala, Mr. Hardev Singh Syal, Harvinder Singh Maavi, Gram Sewak Satwinder Singh Kang, Vinod Kumar Vice- President and Ranjodh Singh Ranian, President Amritsar unit Gurjeevan Singh Brar,Sandeep Kumar,Nirmal Singh and Nawab Rana were also present.
