Youth has an important role to play for the development of the healthy society. That society would finally be emerged stronger, which utilizes its youth power in creative activities.It was stated by Parminder Singh Dhindsa, Finance and Planning Minister, Punjab, while delivering key note address in state level function on World Red Cross Day at Tegore Theatre here. He said that the basic aim of Red Cross is selfless service without discrimination. He said that this concept of selfless service was set up by Bhai Ghanaya Ji long back. He said that it has become more important to strengthen the universal brotherhood in the present scenario, which is full of hatred, discrimination of caste, creed and nationality. He urged that the best way to develop universal brotherhood is by engaging the children in social service. During the occasion, Dhindsa also felicitates service of eminent personalities who played selfless service towards the society and also present mementos to them. These included SSPs of Patiala, Bathinda, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar and Roper Districts including other, who work selfless for humanity.Prominent amongst others, who were present on the occasion included A.B.S. Brar (Brig. Retd.), Secretary, Punjab State Branch, Deputy Secretary A.L. Astha, Account Officer Harbans Singh Baidwan and Senior Field Officer K.K. Saini.
