The Vice President of India M. Hamid Ansari was presented with a book entitled “Empire to Independence” authored by Maj Gen (Retd) Jai Krishan Kaushik here today. The Vice President complimented the author for bringing out such a valuable book on the Indian soldiers. The book is based on historical facts and documentary evidence, as to how the spirit of nationalism of the - then Indian soldier germinated giving rise to major mutinies disillusioning the British about their trust on the Indian military.
