The Punjab Government is committed to impart quality education to students of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes in the state. Disclosing this here today, Punjab Education Minister, Sikander Singh Maluka said that the Punjab Government would spend Rs. 30 Crore to provide free text books to students studying in first to eighth class belonging to scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes in the state. Education Minister further said that Punjab Government was celebrating this year as education year to impart quality education so that Punjab which was at number three in Education in the country could come at number one. He said that required infrastructure would also be provided to all the schools.
