The ruling National Conference is all set to pitch for the restoration of the pre-53 position of Jammu and Kashmir with the demands of state’s own governor and prime minister on agenda in the vision document that the party would present as its election manifesto.Sources told KNS that besides the restoration of the Autonomy, NC will demand the pre-1953 position wherein the state would have its own governor and the prime minister. The ‘vision document’ 2014 is also going to underline the political prosperity of the people of Jammu and Kashmir with the pledge that the party would continue to strive for protection of state’s unique identity.The ‘vision document’-2014, according to sources, will also express regret over September’s ravaging floods and will put forth its agenda and road map vis-à-vis relief and rehabilitation of the flood affected areas- if voted to power.
Reports maintained that the election manifesto will give a prime space to the resolution of employees issue in the past including the enhancement of retirement age and scrapping of the new job policy.The document would further eulogize the efforts of the chief minister Omar Abdullah in channelizing youth talent in proper direction like the establishment of small scale industries and craft development.
The ‘vision document’ will also highlight the role of party founder Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah in the political awakening in Kashmir and will also underline the sacrifices rendered by national conference in the past.The document is also going to demand the return of the power projects from NHPC to the state government with the thorough deliberation upon the looming power crises being witnessed by the people here every day.
