Reiterating his pledged for over all development of state and providing clean and corrupt free environment safeguarding constitutional rights of an inpidual, the Chief Minister  today said that the Rampura Phul Veterinary College and Hospital would prove to be a milestone for the development of Punjab, especially animal husbandry in the state.While addressing the audience after laying foundation stone of the Rampura Phul Veterinary College and Hospital said the agriculture business has reached point of saturation and to supplement their sources of income, the farmers will have to adopt allied business like dairy farming and animal husbandry. He said that the Veterinary College and Hospital coming up at Rampura Phul will herald in a new revolution in terms of animal husbandry in state. He added that the institute would be completed and commissioned within given time frame.

Badal said that his government was completely dedicated towards development of the state and this could happen only when the state’s main occupation farming is turned into a profitable business. He said that the agriculture allied practices played major role in improving the economic condition of farmers and farm laborers and this institute will play major role in making animal rearing a successful venture.

The Chief Minister said that Punjab has registered growth and development during Akali regime only. He added that once considered a backward area, Bathinda has today registered remarkable growth of medical facilities and education. He said that with the formation of Central University of Punjab (CUP) and technical University it has become an epicenter of educational activities adding that the Technical University will start its classes from next academic session onwards. He added that the three thermal power plants in the Malwa area have become major contributors in power production in state.

Mr Badal appealed the people of Punjab to vote to SAD-BJP government for continuing the pace of development.  He asked people to vote for the SAD-BJP candidates in forthcoming local bodies elections so that the state’s governance could be run in a better way.Talking to media persons while laying the foundation stone of Veterinary College and Hospital, he said that that the institute was being constructed at a cost of Rs 70 cr in 62 acres of land and it would be affiliated to Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Science University (GADVASU). Besides having a five years degree course, the institute will also run diploma courses. Also besides teaching about the animal sciences, the institute will have modern laboratories and operations theaters to cater to the needs of farmers in and around Bathinda. SAD general secretary and MP Rajya Sabha Mr Balwinder Singh Bhunder said that under the guidance of Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal state has witnessed unprecedented growth.

Earlier, the area MLA and cabinet minister Mr Sikandar Singh Maluka welcomed the Chief Minister and people at the occasion and said that the people of Bathinda would forever be indebted to CM Mr Parkash Singh Badal for the projects he has given to the area. He added that the institute will not only be of immense help for the people of Bathinda and surrounding areas who will get better treatment at the government institute, albeit it would also be highly beneficial for the students seeking studies in animal sciences. Former MP Canada Ruby Dhalla and vice-chancellor GADVASU Dr Vijay Kumar Taneja was also present at the event.
