Senior Peoples Democratic Party leader and Deputy Speaker Legislative Assembly, Mohammad Sartaj Madni Saturday expressed surprise over the ‘double-standards’ of Congress in the State.“On one hand the Congress is equal partner with NC in the loot and plunder of everything that comes their way, while on the other Congress functionaries take to streets protesting against the same system of which they are a part,” Madni said in a statement to KNS.
He said the protest demonstration led by a local Congress leader Mohammad Amin Bhat at Mir Bazaar, Devsar today has exposed the ‘hypocrisy within the rank and file of Congress party in the State.’ “While the Congress functionaries have been equal partners with NC in the transfer industry, backdoor appointments, extracting cuts from contractors and promoting anarchy in the State, now with the onset of assembly, they have started taking to roads beating their chest against the follies of the same government of which they continue to be a part,” he said and added that the Congress can’t befool the emancipated people of the State by such cheap political gimmicks and they will have to face the same fate in elections as NC.
“People will teach both these parties a befitting lesson in elections as both NC and Congress are responsible for pushing the State into such a mess which would take any capable administrator years to set right,” Madni said.He urged the people not to fall prey to the political gimmicks of the Congress and don’t allow its leaders to take the masses for a ride.
