At least 33 people of two communities have been arrested for rioting in east Delhi's Trilokpuri area, police said Saturday."Ten people were arrested Friday and 23 today (Saturday) for rioting in the area," a police officer told IANS.A minor clash occurred between the two communities late Thursday over rituals for Diwali festival in Trilokpuri's B-Block, said the officer. Two groups of people pelted stones on each other. Police immediately rushed to the area and pacified the people. A group of persons again started pelting stones Friday on the other group aggravating the tension in the area. Thirteen police personnel were also injured in stone pelting. Few people from the groups were also injured and admitted to separate hospitals of east Delhi.

Police force along with personnel of Rapid Action Force (RAF) and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has been deployed in the area.The situation was tense Saturday morning, too. Over 30 police vans, water cannon vehicles and riots control vehicle have been deployed in the area.Joint Commissioner of Police Sanjay Beniwal told IANS: "Situation is under control as of now. But whoever breaks the law, will be arrested. Our men are keeping a tab."Intelligence Bureau and other agencies are also keeping a watch on the situation of the area. A few days ago, the intelligence agencies had warned the states of communal clashes during the festivals season.
