The parents of students’ studying in one of the known private schools on Tuesday alleged that the school management is seeking bus fee from their wards even as the school was shut since floods hit Kashmir valley. The parents, insisting not to be named, told GNS over phone that Lawrence School management informed them to pay bus fare of two months despite of knowing that the school was shut. “They left slips in the bags of our wards wherein they demanded bus fare,” they said.

The school is running in a make-shift building at Dr. Ali Jan road here.Expressing anguish, the parents said post-floods, they are homeless and are living in tents but the school management is turning blind eye towards our conditions. “The floods left us on roads and the school is seeking fees from us,” they said. The parents also alleged that when they approached school authorities and apprised them about their post-flood condition, they misbehaved with them.Despite repeated attempts, the school management couldn’t be contacted.
