Continuing its relief distribution efforts to the flood-hit victims, the Central Relief Committee constituted by Tehreek-e-Hurriyat (TeH) Jammu & Kashmir Tuesday distributed relief among the 150 affected families of Nayakpora Padshahi Bagh and Balgarden areas of Srinagar and provided on spot help to the affected people according to the survey report. In a statement a spokesman of Hurriyat (G) said on the directions of chairman Central Relief Committee Peer Saifullah, a team headed by district president Srinagar and Ganderbal Raja Mehraj-ud-din today visited many flood-hit areas of Srinagar and provided ration and food items to the worst hit families who were identified by a survey team.“District president Bandipora Rayees Ahmad Mir today distributed 10 quintals of rice among the affected people of Bandipora district. At the beginning the Central Relief Committee was providing relief items like rice, flour, cloths to the affected people at its base camp Hyderpora but after some time many flaws were noticed in this system and after that this system was closed down,” he said.

“In an important meeting, it was decided that a statewide survey should be conducted for identifying the deserving people and a survey team was constituted in this regard who personally visit the affected places and prepare the list of deserving persons who have been hit by the recent floods or whose houses have got damaged and are unsafe for the living,” the statement added. The statement said that the cadres and the activists of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat are trying their best to reach the every affected person of every district. “At the first phase they were providing food and other relief material to the affected people and now the homeless people are financially assisted according to the available resources,” the statement added. The chairman Central Relief Committee, however, appealed people not to visit the Hyderpora office for the relief materials as “we have totally closed down the distribution of relief at this place.”
