The Finance Minister of Punjab Parminder Singh Dhindsa today said that the Punjab Government has changed the process of getting clearance for Plan Schemes. He said that now the cases of Plan Schemes would be directly sent to Finance Department for clearance of funds instead of Planning Department. Dhindsa said that this step has been taken to expedite the functioning of state government besides speedy disbursement of funds since earlier the Plans Schemes were sent to Planning Department for funds clearance. He said that now only those schemes would be sent to Planning Department, which were not approved by the Punjab Vidhan Sabha. He said that the proposals sent by various departments should be self-cleared including SOE wise details, prescribed finance and physical aims. Necessary directions in this regard have been issued to all Financial Commissioner, Principal Secretaries and Administrative Secretaries of the state government.
