State Congress President Prof Saifuddin Soz Monday addressed a public meeting at Sheeri Narvav in Baramulla.In a statement a spokesman of the party said Soz was accompanied by Aijaz Ahmad Khan Minister for Revenue & Rehabilitation, Gulam Nabi Monga MLC and Congress Vice President and Shoiab Nabi Lone General Secretary.Speaking on the occasion Soz said he wants to do justice with Narvav in granting CD Block and Tehsil to the area as it would be unjust not to sanction the Tehsil to Narav and Kandi areas. “Both Congress and NC took interest in provision of more administrative Units in the J&K to rectify discrepancies in the provision of administrative units sanctioned earlier,” he said in a statement to KNS.
Soz explained that it was also true that there were areas where NC laid more emphasis and there were other areas where emphasis came from Congress. “It is in this connection that he stressed the fact that Tehsil to Narav and Kandi area of Baramulla was sanctioned on the basis of Congress’s continuous struggle for the same,” he said.
The State Congress chief said that as far the place for instituting Tehsil Office, he would require to consult the leaders of entire area. Aijaz Ahmad Khan while speaking on the occasion said that new administrative units have been sanctioned by the Coalition Govt simply to remove the discrepancies in the list of administrative units that were sanctioned earlier. “In case of Narvav, it was Prof Soz who brought this problems to the notice of the Committee that was looking into discrepancies in the earlier Units and he was happy that a Tehsil and CD Block had been sanctioned in this area,” he said.Gulam Nabi Monga welcomed the decision to provide the Tehsil for Narvav and thanked Prof Soz for his efforts in this direction.
