Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chief Spokesperson and leader of the party in the Legislative Council, Naeem Akhtar has sanctioned an amount of Rs 10 Lakhs out of his Constituency Development Fund (CDF) for purchase of equipment by the district hospital, Bandipur. The equipment is needed for establishing a blood bank in that hospital. In a statement, Akhtar said the patients needing blood transfusion in Bandipur district which includes the far-off areas of Gurez as well had to travel to Srinagar for the facility in absence of blood bank in Bandipur. He said he will try his best to equip Bandipur hospital with required medical equipments and facilities that would minimize the referral of patients to Srinagar. Akhtar said disbursal of medical facilities in fact constitutes an important objective of PDP’s agenda. The district hospital, he said, will be strengthened to provide special treatment at the local level if PDP receives the mandate of the people in the next elections.
