Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today expressed profound grief and sorrow over the tragic incident of a blast in pharmaceutical unit-Dasmesh Medicare, a unit of Indo-Swift Ltd. at village Kasuali near Lalru in Dera Bassi Sub pision of SAS Nagar Mohali which claimed the lives of four workers and injured 17.Disclosing this here today, a spokesperson of the Chief Minister’s Office said that, Badal shared his heartfelt sympathies with the members of the bereaved families and prayed to the Almighty to give strength and courage to bear this irreparable loss and grant peace to the departed souls. He also wished speedy recovery of the injured.
Badal also announced an ex-gratia grant of Rs.2 lac for the next of kin of the deceased and free treatment for the injured in the blast and asked the Deputy Commissioner Mohali to provide the best possible treatment to the injured. Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner Mohali asked the Deputy Director (Factories), Mohali to conduct an inquiry into the incident of blast to ascertain the possible causes of the mishap and submit the report within three days. According to the Deputy Commissioner Mohali, FIR has been registered against the owner and management of the company under the section 304 of IPC.
