The Punjab Government has achieved a yet another mile stone of opening up of 20 lac bank accounts under ‘Jan Dhan’ scheme. Disclosing this here today, Parminder Singh Dhindsa Finance Minister said that the target fixed under this ambitious ‘Jan Dhan’ scheme would be achieved up to November 2014. He said that this flagship scheme was launched under the instructions from Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal. He said that the Punjab Government has mobilised all its resources to sensitize the public to open bank accounts. He said that up to 30 September, 14,745 camps have been organised across the state and 19,76,150 accounts have already been opened. The Minister further said that after piding the state into regions and clusters, Nodel officers for each segment have been deputed. He said that after accessing the feasibility and necessity Aadhar Card machines have also been installed in various regions.  He said that the information of Aadhar Cards have also been incorporating into the bank accounts.“The bank accounts for the unbanked households would be opened soon” Mr. Dhindsa added.
