JKLF chief Mohammad Yasin Malik Monday remarked that holding elections at present would be tantamount to ‘concealing’ the truth.In a statement issued to KNS, Malik said,”talking of elections at a time when Kashmir and Kashmiris have been devastated by a historical flood, reflects the callous and inhuman attitude of Indian and its Kashmiri stooges towards Kashmiris. Making efforts to hold so called elections in these hard times is nothing but a conspiracy to conceal truth.”Yasin who visited flood hit areas including Janglaat Mandi, Nai Bastee, Khanbal, Mir Danter, Hanji Danter and Deva colony in Islamabad today met with the affected people and distributed hundreds of Blankets, many Quintals of Rice, Flour, edible oil, cereals pulses, milk ,medicines, warm clothes for winter season and others necessary relief items among the victims of flood .
On the occasion while talking to people, Yasin said that recent floods have broken the back bone of Kashmir’s economy. Besides loosing hundreds of lives, Thousands of houses have been demolished by flood and as a result millions of people are today compelled to live under open skies and are striving hard to continue their lives .our economy has been shattered totally and thousands of our youth have been turned jobless. Now as severe cold season is knocking the doors of our land, the lives of these homeless people may turn bad to worst. In this disastrous situation, when humans are trying to save their lives, talking and even thinking of elections actually is a glaring example of the callousness, cruel and inhuman face of India and its Kashmiri stooges .Yasin said that thinking of grabbing power through so called elections, shows that Indian and its stooges can cross any limit for continuing illegal occupation on Jammu Kashmir and bullying its people.Condemning this attitude of India and its local stooges( pro-India parties and politicians), Yasin Malik said that in fact elections held in Kashmir are nothing but a military operation but talking of theses on odd times like Kashmir is in now, show the merciless approach of India towards Kashmiris .
Yasin said that the agony caused by recent floods and magnitude of physical and financial losses is such high in Islamabad too that one’s heart goes out for those who have lost their everything but pro India parties like congress, PDP, NC, BJP and others, instead of working for the welfare of people are busy in conspiring to grab power.Yasin Malik said that today Kashmir and kashmiris stand destroyed by floods and India instead of helping is pursuing a policy of hostility with Kashmiris .At this crucial time Kashmiris living across the world have to stand up and try to help flood victims. For this these NR Kashmir’s should adopt Kashmiri families on inpidual basis and try to help these families to rebuild their houses and lives.Yasin Malik while expressing solidarity with the affected people of Islamabad pledged to support them in these hard times. He also visited the residence of late JKLF district secretary Mohammad Yusuf and expressed his heart felt grief and sorrow over his demise. (KNS)
