Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah who is presently in the Union Capital, Monday morning in a video conferencing from here with the Chief Secretary and top level bureaucrats of the State, reviewed the status of relief and rehabilitation process being carried out in the Valley to provide necessary succor to the flood affected people.The Chief Minister was informed by the pisional Commissioner Kashmir that Rs. 43.18 crores have so far been disbursed among the families whose houses have fully collapsed in the devastating floods. It was stated that the cases of 3626 fully damaged houses have been approved for disbursement of interim compensation. It was stated that the process of disbursement of interim relief is going on full swing and will be completely shortly.

The Chief Minister received the status report of ration distribution and the supply of essential commodities and LPG. It was stated that about 20000 tonnes of rice has been supplied to ration depots in the Valley so far and the total requirement of 32000 tonnes for the month will be met in next three to four days. It was stated that in Jammu against the total requirement of 25000 tonnes for the month, ration of 15000 tonnes have been supplied to the depots so far.The Chief Minister directed the CAPD Department to visit the ration depots and ascertain the status of supply of ration to the people. The Secretary CAPD said that he will himself alongwith the team of officers will visit the city depots in this regard.

Omar Abdullah while taking brief on the installation of pumps in inundated areas of Sumbal-Sonawari Tehsil, directed for intensifying the process of dewatering by installing more pumps.The Chief Minister was informed that fumigation of the houses which remained submerged during floods has been started in the city and yesterday more than 200 houses have been disinfected. It was added that the drive will continue on full swing to accomplish the task of disinfecting the affected houses within this week.It was stated that power supply situation in the Valley remained more than normal and there has been no adverse report on health indicators.
