Roar – Tigers of the Sunderbans

Actor Kamal Sadanah (known for films like Bekhudi and Rang) is all set to make his directorial debut with a film titled “Roar – Tigers of the Sundarban”. As the title suggests, the film is an action adventure set in the Sundarbans which is the largest mangrove forest having over 400 tigers. The film will have heavy VFX with over 800 special effects shots along with Stunning aerial visuals of the Sundarbans. Ltd, helmed by Abis Rizvi of Rizvi Group is slated to hit theaters across India on October 31 this year.

Unique promotion

To give an experience of being in the same frame as Tigers and Crocodiles, Makers of the film will set up Augmented Reality (AR)  wherein real video is combined with a computer generated image and is projected on a large screen which looks very real. This gives people an opportunity to experience it in virtual reality without actually physically being present.. To explain simply -  Here an LED screen will be set up and via VFX the person standing in front of it can see himself/herself on the screen, the difference being there is a Tiger on screen next to him/her but not in reality. He/she can interact with the tiger on screen, play with it etc and this video clipping will be given away for the person to keep it as a momentum via an email or uploaded directly on his/her Facebook.

 Key Points

1. The film has never seen before VFX in Hindi films. Kamal Sadanah and producer Abis Rizvi took VFX training themselves and then hired a specialized team of 300 people to work on VFX. It took about 12 months to get 800 VFX shots right.

2. A live recording with European musicians was done in Budapest for the mesmerizing Background score composed by John Stewart Eduri which has been complimented by spectacular sound design of Oscar winner Resul Pookutty.

3. 80 % of the tiger footage is shot with real tigers trained in LA. After getting 50 hours of tiger footage, it was matched with portions filmed during a five week shoot in the Sunderbans and a three-day shoot in a zoo in Thailand.
