Yamunanagar , 12 Oct 2014

Shiromani Akali Dal general secretary Bikram Singh Majithia today appealed to the people of Haryana to vote the INLD - SAD alliance to power to usher in an era of development in the State. Majithia, who conducted a whirlwind tour of different constituencies of Yamunanagar today to campaign in favour of alliance candidates, said the people were fed up with the corrupt and discriminatory B S Hooda government and were eager to vote it out if power on October 15. While addressing a rally in favour of INLD candidate Bishan Lal Saini at village Peeruwal in Jagadhri constituency, Majithia said the charisma of Sardar Parkash Singh Badal and "loh pursh" Shri Om Parkash Chautala could not be matched by anyone in the country.

Majithia said those who feared Mr Chautala's rise tried every possible way to block his connect with the people. "They spent crores of rupees on lawyers and got Mr Om Prakash Chautala's bail cancelled before due time. But this has backfired on them as Mr Chautala's popularity has crossed all limits because every one knows that his only crime was to give employment to thousands of youth".  He said the pro INLD wave had entered every nook and corner of Haryana and it would soon take the shape of a typhoon in which all political opponents would automatically vanish.

Taking direct aim at Mr Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Bikram Majithia said  Hooda tried to hoodwinked the electorate by issuing advertisements in newspapers claiming Haryana to be number one state. "Whereas the truth is that Hooda meted step motherly treatment towards people living especially in rural areas, who could not even get access to  basic facilities". Majithia said the Hooda government was neck deep in corruption and it would not be wrong if we call it the "Government of Property Dealers". He said due to anti farmer policies, the Hooda led Congress government in Haryana literally snatched agricultural lands of farmers on throwaway prices which directly benefitted the rich and mighty land developers and property dealers. He said that it was sad but true that Hooda shielded Robert Vadra to please his master Sonia Gandhi.

The SAD leader also criticised the Hooda government of piding the Sikh community by forming a separate Gurudwara Parbandhak Committee. "People of Haryana clearly know that a former Member of Parliament from BJP is trying to please his political masters by indulging in false propaganda which the people of Haryana have already rejected," said Mr Bikram Singh Majithia.

Majithia also chaired a meeting of Shiromani Akali Dal and INLD workers in Jagadhri constituency. Besides Mr Bishan Lal Saini, Majithia even canvassed in favour of Miss Pinky from Sadhera constituency, Jagmal Singh from Naraingarh constituency, Dilbagh Singh from Yamunanagar constituency and Rajiv Singh from Mulka constituency. During the rallies, Majithia appealed to the electorate to vote for Shiromani Akali Dal-INLD candidates and reject the Congress and other political parties.

He also honoured Arun Kumar, former block president, Youth Congress from Sadera constituency, who joined INLD along with hundreds of his supporters.Prominent among those who accompanied Mr Majithia included Senior Akali leader Mr Vir Singh Lopoke, SGPC member Mr Baldev Singh Kaimpur, Chaudhry Charan Singh, MLAs Mr Harmit Singh Sandhu, Mr Virsa Singh Valtoha, Mr Inderbir Singh Bolaria and Mr Manjit Singh Manna, Mr Upkar Singh Sandhu, Mr Navdeep Singh Goldy, Mr Jagroop Singh Chandi, Mr Surjit Singh Bhetwind, Mr Kuldeep Singh Aulakh, Chaudhry Jai Chand Singh Sadaur, besides several others.
