Mega blood-donation camp held at Baramulla

In continuation with the ongoing efforts of the Army to help the people of Kashmir to coup up with the aftermath of recent floods in the valley, a mega blood donation camp under the supervision of the Rashtriya Rifles Battalion Baramulla was organised at ADS Baramula on Saturday.According to a statement issued to GNS, a joint team of doctors and technicians from ADS Baramula and District Hospital Baramula collected the blood. "The camp was inaugurated by General Officer Commanding, Dagger pision Major General Anil Chauhan. Medical superintendent District hospital Baramula was also present on the occasion. 

The event saw total of 170 soldiers and officers from various units of Baramulla station going beyond the call of duty for humanitarian cause and enthusiastically donating blood voluntarily,” the statement read, adding Major General Anil Chauhan along with other officers also donated blood. The collected blood will be used for patients requiring blood transfusions at various Government hospitals in Baramulla and Srinagar including District hospital, Baramulla, SKIMS Soura, Bone & Joint Hospital Srinagar. “The local civil administration applauded the humanitarian initiative of the Army and said that this Camp would immensely help in overcoming the shortage of blood supply post floods in the valley,” it read.
