Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah today received the first batch of Hajjies who arrived at the Srinagar International Airport from Saudi Arabia. Minister for Hajj and Auqaf, Peerzada Mohammad Sayeed was accompanying the Chief Minister. Omar Abdullah greeted the Hajjies for performing the holy duty and wished them well-being and prosperity. The Hajjies reciprocated the wishes and prayed for good health and success of Omar Abdullah.As many as 272 Hajjies arrived today in the first flight after performing Haj. In all, 7011 intending Hajjies had left for performing Haj from the State, of which 5 passed away at Mecca. Sixteen intending Hajjies could not leave for Haj as they suffered severely due to devastating floods in the State. (KNS)
