Expressing his profound grief and regret over the loss of life and property at Kursso, Rajbagh and other adjoining areas, Hurriyat Conference (M) Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq today expressed his solidarity and sympathy with the flood victims of these areas.According to a statement issued to KNS, while visiting these areas- worst affected by the floods- Mirwaiz stated that government turned complete blind eye as far as relief and rehabilitation of flood hit victims was concerned in these areas.
Terming the response of government towards dealing with the flood catastrophe as completely callous, Mirwaiz stated no concrete steps have been taken to provide succour to flood victims facing immense hardships since they have lost everything including their houses to devastating floods. He stated that inability of government to deal with the aftermath of floods have completed exposed it.
Meanwhile APHC Chairman led a high level hurriyat delegation including Bilal Gani Lone, Musadiq Adil, Advocate Abdul majid Banday, Advocate Shahid ul Islam, Javaid Ahmad Mir, Engineer Hilal War, Abdul Manan Bukhari, Yasmeen Raja and Sofi Mushtaq to hurriyat headquarters located at Rajbagh to assess the damage caused by the ravaging floods.
APHC Chairman instructed the office bearers to clean the office on urgent basis and make it fully operational for the general public and hurriyat officials.Mirwaiz also offered his heartfelt condolences to Abdul Majid- a prominent resident of rajbagh staying near APHC headquarters- who died while escaping the flood waters. Mirwaiz Visited the house of Mr.Majid expressed his regret and prayed for the deceased soul. Mirwaiz also visited Rajourin kadal to condole with Mohammad Sidiq - a long time associate of hurriyat- whose wife passed away recently. While expressing his greif and regret, Mirwaiz prayed for the deceased soul. (KNS)
