National Conference has felicitated the people of the State and the entire Muslim Ummah around the world on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha and said that this Eid should be about empathy and solidarity with the flood affected people who have lost their kith and kin and been displaced from their hearths and homes. In a special message National Conference President Dr. Farooq Abdullah has expressed his solidarity with those flood victims who have suffered enormous pain and misery in the unprecedented floods that ravaged the State.“I stand in solidarity with the flood affected people of our State and make a fervent appeal to everyone to mark this Eid by showing solidarity with those who have lost everything in the floods. I am certain that the people of Jammu and Kashmir will continue to exhibit the highest standards of social service and empathy for their neighbors and fellow citizens by ensuring that this holy festival is observed solemnly and with austerity. I appeal to those with means to spend their Eid with the destitute, the homeless and the displaced people so as to share their pain of loss and grief”, Dr. Farooq Abdullah said.

Dr. Farooq Abdullah has also appealed to all his party leaders, office-bearers, workers and activists to ensure that they serve the flood-affected victims with the highest standards of selflessness, especially during the holy festival of Eid-ul-Azha. “Our workers and activists, despite having been victims of the flood themselves have left no stone unturned to reach out to those in need and I have firm faith that they will continue this noble work with utmost dedication and patriotism”, Dr. Farooq Abdullah added.

Veteran NC Leader Sheikh Nazir Ahmed (Advocate), NC General Secretary Ali Mohammad Sagar, NC Additional General Secretary Dr. Sheikh Mustafa Kamal and National Conference Provincial President Nasir Aslam Wani have also felicitated people on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha and prayed for peace to those who lost their lives in the flood fury. The Senior NC Leaders have also appealed that Eid be observed with utmost simplicity and austerity and that those with means should reach out to those whose lives have been devastated by the floods.

Senior NC Leaders, Ministers, Members of Parliament, Legislators, Office Bearers including Abdul Rahim Rather, Speaker Mubarak Gul, Mian Altaf Ahmad, Chowdhary Mohammad Ramzan, Mir Saifullah, Dr. Mehboob Beg, Mohammad Shafi Uri, Sharif-ud-din Shariq, Mohammad Akbar Lone, Sajjad Kitchloo, Aga Syed Ruhullah, Sakina Ittoo, Nazir Ahmed Khan (Gurezi), Kafil-ur-Rehman, Shameema Firdous, Irfan Ahmed Shah, Mohammad Yaseen Shah, Peer Afaq Ahmed, Javed Ahmed Dar, G. N. Ratanpuri, NC Spokesman Junaid Azim Mattu, CM’s Political Secretary Tanvir Sadiq, Youth President Salman Ali Sagar have also felicitated the people on Eid-ul-Azha and prayed for the State’s recovery from the floods that left hundreds and thousands of people homeless and displaced.
