Punjab has imported 1.5 lakh high quality sex semen doses from Canada to improve the cow breed, thus creating new milestones in the production of milk. It was disclosed by Gulzar Singh Ranike, Minister for Animal Husbandry and Diary Development.He said that to sensitize the farmers about the importance of imported semen, a state level seminar is being organized at Guru Nanak Bhawan, Near Bus Stand, Amritsar, on April 30 at 12.00 noon. Ranike said that these imported sex semen would help 75,000 cows to produce dual breed offspring. He said that the high quality cattle produced through this technique would be able to deliver 7,000 to 8,000 liter milk per delivery. Ranike said that these imported semen doses would also help in producing high quality Bulls, which further enable improving the breed of cows.
