Jagadguru Kripalu Parishat has donated Rs.2 crore to the Prime Minister's Relief Fund for relief and rehabilitation work in the flood-ravaged Jammu and Kashmir, a statement from the institution said Thursday.

The representatives of the parishat, a charitable organisation founded by the late renowned spiritual leader Jagadguru Kripalu Ji Maharaj, handed over the draft to BJP President Amit Shah at the party headquarters here.They also conveyed the deep condolences expressed by Vishakha Tripathi, president, and Shyama Tripathi and Krishna Tripathi, to the victims and their families on this massive destruction of human life and the heartbreaking devastation in the state.Shah thanked the parishat for the contribution and said the people of the state, which suffered a major loss including those of lives and property, needed such help and the amount donated will give relief to the people who have seen the worst.

Jagadguru Kripalu Parishat (JKP), founded by Jagadguru Kripalu Ji Maharaj, the 5th Jagadguru of this age, has been working for the past 60 years for the welfare of humanity.In the past, it donated Rs.1 crore for the victims of the Uttarakhand disaster, Rs.10 lakh for Bhuj earthquake victims, Rs. 25 lakh for Tsunami victims and Rs.2 crore for Bihar flood victims. The parishat carries out various spiritual, philanthropic and humanitarian activities, along with two free multi-disciplinary hospitals for the poor and a secular institution for free education for underprivileged girls up to post graduation level.
