Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today approved to constitute a committee under the Chairmanship of Animal Husbandry, Fisheries, Dairy Development, Welfare of SC & BC Minister Gulzar Singh Ranike for the comprehensive development of the holy temple of Sri Valmiki ji at Ram Tirath in Aitsar district. A decision to this effect was taken by Badal during a joint meeting with the leaders and representatives of different groups of Valmik Samaj here at Punjab Bhawan. Taking part in the deliberations, Badal asked Ranike and Speaker Punjab Vidhan Sabha Charanjit Singh Atwal to jointly finalize the list of members to be included in the committee. He categorically said that the state government was fully committed to renovate and beautify the holy Ram Tirath temple in view of its sanctity and historical importance. The master plan for the development would be prepared by the committee, added Badal. Speaking on the occasion, Ranike thanked the Chief Minister for his all-out efforts in resolving various long pending issues of the valmik samaj. He further asked the community to reciprocate in the same gesture to honour the commitments of Badal. Expressing gratitude on behalf of the Valmik Samaj, Vijay Danav said that community would be ever indebted to Badal for showing magnanimity to ensure overall development and beautification at Sri Valmiki Ashram (Ram Tirath) in view of the sentiments of nearly 14 crore population of valmik community.
