Speaker takes stock of flood situation in Eidgah constituency

Speaker, Jammu & Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Mubarak Gul today visited flood affected areas of Eidgah Constituency and took stock of the situation arisen due to incessant rains and flash flood.The areas which were visited by the Speaker included Gujarbal, Chountfaqir, Pamposh Colony, Palpora, Krishbal, Badiadder, Noorbagh and Sangam which have been submerged into water and suffered heavy loss of assets, standing crops of vegetable, fruit and paddy.

The Speaker directed the authorities for making alternate arrangements for the affected people at safer places and provision of free ration, LPG Gas, K.oil and other essentials. He also asked the authorities for pressing more boats into service for shifting the people from affected places to safer areas, besides arranging adequate sand bags at vulnerable places.Gul also thanked the voluntary agencies for assisting the administration and rendering necessary help to the affected people in the area.
