BJP president Amit Shah has claimed that his party will get two-thirds majority in Haryana, and will also form governments in Maharashtra, Jharkhand and Jammu and Kashmir after the assembly polls later this year.Replying to questions in Rajat Sharma's show "Aap Ki Adalat", the Bharatiya Janata Party chief said: "Though our party suffered some reverses in the recent assembly bye-elections, I am confident that the forthcoming assembly polls in four states will make everything clear (doodh ka doodh, paani ka paani). All these four states will have BJP governments."

"Formation of governments in these four states will be the achievement of the next stage in our agenda of Congress-free India (Congress-mukt Bharat)" said Shah, according to a press statement from India TV.On the possibility of BJP being invited to form the government in Delhi, the party chief said: "Our party got mandate in the assembly and Lok Sabha polls in Delhi, and we think that mandate stands. I do not find anything immoral in seeking support to form a government.""Everybody wants to avoid fresh elections in Delhi," said Shah, adding "BJP is the single largest party and it has the right to form a government".

The BJP chief said he was hopeful that all ticklish issues with its alliance partner Shiv Sena will be ironed out in Maharashtra before the polls."Our alliance with the Shiv Sena has been there for many years. As far as differences are concerned, it is our internal matter (yeh ghar ki baat hai), and will be ironed out among ourselves."The Shiv Sena-BJP alliance will form the next government and the Congress-NCP coalition will be mauled badly to the extent that they may not be having the minimum number required for Leader of Opposition," he said.On Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi's remark that the prime minister was beating a drum in Japan at a time when people were facing problems of power and water shortage, Shah replied: "Rahul's party and the UPA were beating their own drum for the last 10 years and problems relating to power, water and roads were the outcome of 10 years of UPA rule."

Listing the achievements of the Narendra Modi government in the last 100 days, Shah said: "For us, achhey din (good days) means, hike in GDP growth rate by 1.5 percent in the first quarter, a strong rupee, decline in petrol price, financial inclusion of 4.5 crore people, quick clearance of infrastructure projects, suspension of India-Pakistan dialogue over issue of talks with separatists, and the US secretary of state coming to Delhi to say 'sabka saath, sabka vikas'."On the issue of denying Leader of Opposition post to the Congress in the Lok Sabha, Shah said: "It is not our party's decision, this was the decision of people who did not give them the required number of seats."For 25 years, the Congress deprived us of Leader of Opposition post. Where was the democratic propriety then? As far as selection of CVC, Lokpal and NHRC chairman is concerned, a new process will have to be evolved," he said, according to the India TV press release.

The BJP president lambasted Congress chief Sonia Gandhi's accusation that there have been over 600 communal incidents during the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance rule."Forget 600, can you tell me the names of at least 60 places? A Muslim driving a truck hits a car driven by a Hindu. Is it a communal incident? Communal incidents in 600 places means curfew in at least 3,000 police stations.Shah, however, alleged that the communal tension was rising in Uttar Pradesh only because of the "one-sided approach" of the state police."Maharashtra and Haryana are going to the polls. Why is there no communal tension? Why only in UP? If communal tension continues in UP, I can tell you, the BJP will form the next government in UP with a clear majority."

Shah said media reports about ministers in the Modi government were misleading and baseless."A large section of the media is trying to tarnish our government's image but have failed."Shah said reports published about Home Minister Rajnath Singh's son, and union ministers Prakash Javadekar and Dharmendra Pradhan were baseless."If the newspapers think their reports are correct, let them at least name the ministers and the sources of their reports," said the BJP chief.Shah said there were no differences in the BJP government over who was No.2."Rajnath-ji is No.2 and it's clear from the seating arrangements. There is no confusion," he added. The programme was telecast on India TV Saturday night and repeated twice Sunday.
