The Shiromani Akali Dal described the open letter written by the Congress spokesman Sukhpal Singh Khaira to Social activist Anna Hazare as “a bundle of lies” and aimed at perting the issue of corruption from the Congress party to SAD. Reacting to the statement of the Congress leader, the SAD Secretary and Spokesman Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema said that before issuing such baseless statements Mr. Khaira must remember the bitter truth that people of the Punjab, UP and now of Delhi have taught Congress a life time lesson for its world famous scams of 2 G Spectrum, Adarsh Scam of Maharashtra, Commonwealth Games scam, Ludhiana Improvement trust scam and other scandals of the Congress party. He said that people of the country are fed up with the multi crore scams of the Congress party and this reality has forced these social crusaders to launch a movement against the corruption of Congress leaders.
Launching a scathing attack on the Congress leader, Dr. Cheema further said that before leveling such baseless and politically motivated allegations against the Badal family he should be well aware that these allegations had been making rounds for the last 10 years in the statements of the Congress leaders including Capt. Amarinder Singh but these false, baseless and politically motivated allegations have been completely rejected by the people of the state in the 2007 and 2012 assembly polls. Not only the people of the state but even the judicial courts have already acquitted the Badal family of these false cases registered against them by the Capt. Amarinder Singh led Congress government, he added.Dr. Cheema expressed surprise that on one hand Mr. Khaira is appealing the social crusaders to launch the offensive from Punjab and on the other he is calling their campaign “politically motivated and sponsored by RSS and BJP.” He said that this also displays the psyche of the Congress party and their apprehension of the worst in the ensuing Municipal elections in Punjab.
