Srinagar , 28 Aug 2014

Bhartiya Janata Party members Thursday created ruckus over the alleged continuous ceasefire violation by Pakistan in Legislative Assembly. Amid slogans and walk out, they demanded a discussion on the issue and urged upon the government to grant all rights to Hindu refugees from Pakistan administered Kashmir settled in different pisions of Jammu after 1971 Indo-Pak war.Shortly after the end of the Question Hour, BJP legislator Ashwani Kumar raised ceasefire violation issue and demanded that House should unanimously condemn the action of Pakistan. He also demanded that refugees settled in different parts of Jammu pision be given all the rights that a common state-subject enjoys.Supporting the views of Kumar, other members of BJP stood up from their benches and criticized Pakistan for violating the ceasefire repeatedly. MLA Langate Engineer Rashid according to CNS confronted them and raised objection when the BJP members raised slogans demanding arrest of Pakistani agents present in the House.

Rashid stormed into well and alleged that BJP is the biggest obstacle in getting the Kashmir issue resolved. He said that ceasefire violation along Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir is the result of Kashmir issue which needs to be resolved.Speaker Mubarak Gul while directing BJP members and Er Rashid to maintain order in the House said that the issue has already been discussed in the House and he can’t allow discussion on this issue again. He said that it is a border issue and Central Government has to deal with it. “Why again you are raising this issue once House has already discussed it. You are creating mess to score points and have some gain in coming elections,” Speaker shouted at BJP members.

BJP members however continued to raise the issue and staged a walkout from the House.Meanwhile, in Legislative Council, a resolution brought in by National Conference leader Davinder Singh Rana was unanimously adopted advising the state government to urge upon the Centre to resume Indo-Pak dialogue process. The resolution also called upon the centre to ensure the prevention of firing which has caused loss of human life and property, and also ensure peace and stability in the subcontinent in general and the state of Jammu & Kashmir in particular.  Peoples Democratic Party stood on their seats, asserting that sufficient time had not been given to them to study the resolution. The move was also opposed by NC leader Shahnaz Ganai, who said Rana had been allowed to table the resolution while her calling attention motion on connected issues had been ignored. In the resulting ruckus, Rana left the house.
