In order to implement the government decisions at grass-root level and to extend the benefits of these decisions to the people of the state, the Kunzer town which have been carved out from Tangmarg as a separate Tehsil while setting up new administrative units in the State, will have Tehsil Status from first week of September this year.This was stated by Minister for Agriculture, Ghulam Hassan Mir while addressing a mammoth gathering at Kunzer today. The Minister said that Kunzer would be the headquarter of new tehsil in view of its centrally location on Narbal-Tangmarg Road where the people of vast area have an easy access besides it will have all the basic facilities required for Tehsil status.Mir said all the formalities including posting of staff has been completed and the office accommodation for Tehsildar, Kunzer, has been identified. He said the new buildings are constructed for Tehsil premises for which sufficient funds have already been earmarked in the current financial year.
The Minister, who is also MLA Tangmarg-Gulmarag, said that new administrative units have been set up with the aim to accelerate the developmental initiatives undertaken by the government for the holistic and sustainable development of the State.Mir said that by setting up of 659 administrative units including 137 new tehsils and number of CD Blocks, Niabats, and Panchayats, the government has ensured transparent and accountable governance to the people at their doorsteps adding that it is now upto them how to avail maximum benefits of the policies and programmes launched in the State.Mir said that certain forces are trying to negate the achievements registered by the present government by spreading false propaganda. He said setting up of new administrative units in the state is befitting reply to those forces who are criticizing the government’s move initiated towards development and prosperity of the state.
