N.Chandrababu Naidu Meets Food Processing Industries Minister

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N.Chandrababu Naidu met Minister of Food Processing Industries Harsimrat Kaur Badal in the capital today. Discussions were held on ways to promote food processing industry in the State. Harsimrat Kaur Badal informed that seven applications have been received from Andhra Pradesh for setting up of Food Parks and the Ministry of Food Processing Industries would give all possible support to the Andhra Pradesh Government for development of the Food Processing Industry in the State. She also requested the Andhra Pradesh Govt. to have a re-look at the taxation of agricultural commodities so that the integration between industry and agriculture could be facilitated. The Food Processing Industries Minister also discussed the restriction on movement of fruits and vegetables across the States and requested that the State Government should facilitate easier movement of agricultural commodities in the country. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Shri N.Chandrababu Naidu highlighted that his State has 14 parks and 1000 km of sea coast and thus possesses great potential for promotion of food processing industry. He requested that the Ministry of Food Processing Industries should work out a detailed study regarding the Food Processing Industries so that the entire value chain in the sector could be worked out and suitable schemes formulated accordingly.
