“CM Himachal Virbhadra Singh Singh will launch food security programme in Himachal from Shimla on 11th Sept,”said state food and transport minister G S Bali at Dharamsala on Thursday. He said that the state will keep on providing selected food items to APL families too, though its rate may slightly be increased from the present one. Minister said, “Govt of India have agreed in principal to proved a help of rs 400 crore to meet cost to provide subsidized food to APL families in the state.”Bali said that a project of 19 crore has been sanctioned by center to bring civil supplies of the state on line.”He said that that to store more food under food security, the state shall built more storage on Private Public partnership with the help of central government.
Talking about the Transport facilities the state he said,” Govt. of India have agreed in principal to included Himachal as a Hill State in pilot project after Rajasthan and Assam for gape funding (in loss) to give increased transport connectivity in rural areas.” He said that during his recent meeting with Transport Minister of India , center have agreed to provide Driver Training School for Himachal at the cost of 14 crore. Center has also agreed to provide liberal fund for National Highway 20-a Nagrota Bagwan-Mubarkpur in Himachal.
