Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) general secretary and core committee member Maheshinder Singh Grewal today urged the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) to take action against its Sangrur MP Bhagwant Mann who he said was the king pin behind the extremely provocative and vulgar act at the Issru conference in Ludhiana district on Independence Day.In a statement here, the SAD leader said it was increasingly becoming clear that the persons involved in the conspiracy to disrupt the Issru conference were in touch with Mr Bhagwant Mann. "By openly becoming associated with acts aimed at disturbing the law and order situation in Punjab, the Sangrur MP has proven that he can stoop to any level to fulfil his desire to attempt to degrade his political opponents. Now it is for the AAP high command to take cognisance of this act and take appropriate action against Mann", the SAD leader said.
Grewal said the Sangrur MP should list the work done by him rather than playing cheap politics. "It is shocking that Mann is styling himself after the great martyr Bhagat Singh. The martyr sacrificed his life for the country. The only achievement of Bhagwant Mann till now has been that he has been a successful comedian. There is nothing else he can take credit for".Grewal also urged AAP head Arvind Kejriwal to practice ethical politics. "You have a propensity to take sides according to what suits you politically. You have been playing a double game on the issue of your party's office bearers in Punjab. Now when it is being said that the man who indulged in the provocative act in Isru is your office bearer you are claiming that you have no organisational structure in Punjab which is a lie", he added.The SAD leader said the people of Punjab were already understanding the diabolical nature of AAP and would put the party in its due place in the forthcoming by polls to Talwandi Sabo and Patiala assembly constituencies. "People have understood that a party which shunned its responsibility when given a chance to govern Delhi cannot do any meaningful contribution to politics in Punjab", he added.
