Kashmiri Pandits in the Valley are celebrating the festival of Janamashtami , which is the birthday of Lord Krishna, like the rest of the country.Chanting hymns and waving red saffron flags, Kashmiri Pandits marched through Srinagar to celebrate Janmashtami.Scores of Kashmiri Pandits visited Katlaishwar temple near old secretariat in Srinagar and participated in 'Puja Archana, Bhajan Keertan and Prasad Vitaran'.The Pandits thanked their Muslim brethren for their cooperation in conducting a smooth 'jhanki yatra'.Many Muslims also witnessed the 'jhanki', which started from the old secretariat and went through the whole uptown localities.The Muslims on the occasion said that visiting each other on festivals has been an age-old tradition in the Valley and will be continue in the future as well.
