Aryans Group of Colleges, Chandigarh recently organized a Faculty Development Programme on “Enhancing Teaching effectiveness in Education” at its Campus situated on Chandigarh-Patiala Highway, Near Chandigarh. Around 150 faculty members of different departments including Management, Engineering & Technology, Education, Nursing, etc. participated enthusiastically in the Programme. Dr Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group inaugurated the Programme.Dr Anshu Kataria while interacting with the Faculty Members said that the program introduced effective approaches to teaching and also helped the teachers to identify their own strengths and areas for improvement. He suggested the teachers to balance their career and academic development and keep up the spirit of learning something new as and when they get the opportunity. Dr Parveen Kataria, Director General, Aryans Group said that the overall aim of the program was to improve the general quality of education. He added that Aryans Group will keep on organizing these kind of FDPs frequently to prepare the teachers to make outstanding contributions to their institutions through the development of critical teaching and leadership skills.
Prof. A.P Jain, Director, Aryans Group of Colleges said that in the Programme, the contribution of teachers towards overall development of students as well as their personalities through the principles of motivation and organizational behavior was also discussed.Prof B S Sidhu, Registrar, Aryans Group said that FDP aims at equipping teachers with skills and knowledge that are essential for inculcating entrepreneurial values in students and guiding and monitoring their progress towards entrepreneurial career. FDP is designed to train and develop faculty members so that they can act as resource persons in guiding and motivating the young generation.Ms Varinder Kaur, Deputy Director, Aryans Group said that these kinds of faculty Development Programmes are need of the hour. Faculty feels motivated and responsible to work more for the development of the students. The ultimate benefit of these programmes is gained the students only through their teachers.
